I am responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure at Chancellor College. Besides provide the college network users with a more secure and reliable internet connection, my work helps the researchers, both staff and students, to get connected and stay in touch the college's remote research centers and other related research institutions outside campus and the nation at large. But our servers are on Linux. We have a fiber backbone on campus and UTP cables running to the departments. We are connected to the internet through VSAT, our ISP is in Norway. I feel the need to get some knowledge on what my fellow system administrators are doing, considering that our college is planning to increase the number of students from 6000 to 15000.
